“Random Radio” CJUC 92.5fm has unleashed the airwaves to youth through BYTE every Monday to Friday 12:00-1:00 & 5:00-6:00. A full 2 hours a day of radio programming put together by youth. Listen each week as the BYTE hour changes and evolves, as different youth from the community create it. If you want to get in on BYTE’s radio hour, GIVE BYTE A SHOUT! (867) 667-7975. It’ll even be taken on the road, broadcasting from travels, picking up music and voices from anywhere and everywhere!

Objectives of BYTE’s Revolutionary Radio Hour:
1)Increase Interactive Youth Airtime: BYTE’s Revolutionary Radio Hour will has youth programming on CJUC 92.5fm from Monday to Friday 12:00-1:00 pm and 5:00-6:00 pm, however, at the moment it is only playing favorite youth picked songs. In the objectives below you will see the possibilities, if we are given an increase in our funding towards this project.

2)Showcase Youth and Youth-Serving Organizations: BYTE’s Revolutionary Radio Hour will involve and showcase youth and youth serving organizations by airing pre-recorded interviews. Ideally two interviews would be conducted each week; one with a youth regarding relevant youth issues and one with a youth organization about what they do and are involved in.

3) Creative and Organized Programming: BYTE’s Revolutionary Radio Hour will fund a youth radio program coordinator; who is responsible for conducting interviews, choosing appropriate music and increasing exposure of the youth music scene and general youth events in the Yukon.

4)Involve Surrounding Communities: BYTE’s Revolutionary Radio Hour will be made available to youth in communities through BYTE’s Facilitation Team who can conduct a workshop called “Design Your Own Radio Show” where youth in the outlying communities can record and air their own show on BYTE’s Revolutionary Radio Hour.

5) Provide a Safe Venue for Creative Expression: BYTE’s Revolutionary Radio Hour will give youth and youth serving organizations to safely discuss issues and air their issues, ideas in a creative, appropriate manner.
